Dr. Casey has worked in the area of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) since 1991 and has specifically focused in assessment and treatment of challenging behavior and feeding concerns. He has worked with children in families in a variety of settings including: hospitals, outpatient clinics, home settings, schools, early intervention centers, and residential programs and school settings.
Dr. Casey received his original training in ABA at Children’s Seashore House (Philadelphia, PA) from 1991-1995. As a graduate student he trained at the University of Iowa from 1995-2000 under David Wacker, Ph.D., and received his initial training in feeding disorders from 1997-1999 under Linda Cooper-Brown. Since then, Dr. Casey has worked in several ABA based residential programs to educate and treat children who display a variety of intensive behavior problems. Dr. Casey has also held faculty positions at Penn State University, Temple University, Arcadia University, Holy Family College, Rowan University in New Jersey, and the University of Iowa and Drake University.
Over the course of his career, Dr. Casey has over made 70 presentations at major conferences nationally and internationally, including more than ten invited presentations. He has over a dozen peer-reviewed publications, 2 book chapters and has received two grants specifically in the area of feeding disorders. He has served as a Guest Editor for several leading peer-reviewed journals. His is also a recipient of the Association for Behavior Analysis Student Committee Outstanding Mentor of the Year Award in 2006 (an honor he holds dear because of the mentoring he also has received over the years).
What cannot be shown here is the passion Dr. Casey has for his work with young children with feeding issues. He relishes in the positive ripple effects that occur when his work translates into positive outcomes for the young children and their family's which are truly the main reinforcers for his work.
